The #1 Reason Why Your Social Media Content Isn’t Converting to Sales

I know how frustrating it can be when you’ve spent hours batching out your content, feeling super confident about it and then waiting… and waiting… and waiting for those DMs to roll in with people desiring to pay you.

It gets even stickier when you’re bombarded with other coaches’ content talking about how they make a ludicrous amount of money from a single Instagram post.

How the f did they do that?! 🤯

Not to oversimplify the issue, but they’re busy being themselves. They’ve dropped the pretense. They’ve embodied who they want to be both in and out of business. They’ve decided to show up as the coach they would want to hire and sell their services every damn day.

All of that being said, I’m not here to oversimplify. I’m here to give you some actionable tips that you can start using right freaking now (and who doesn’t want that, right?

First things first, you’re going to do a quick audit of your content. Open up the app or website where you’re primarily communicating with your audience and take a look at your most recent 3-5 pieces of content (Facebook/Instagram Captions, Instagram Reels, Tiktoks, Blog Posts, Emails, etc).

Then, ask yourself the following questions:

→ Can my audience get to know me from my content?

→ Are they getting my sense of humor?

→ Do they understand how deeply I care for them and their unique situations?

→ Do they feel seen or heard from my words?

→ Have I given them any clues about what’s going on in my world outside of business?

→ Do they have any idea what I’m working on or what’s coming up soon?

It can be so tempting to write 100% of your content from the perspective of sales or benefits & transformations of your products and programs. And that content has a time and place.

But more importantly, your audience wants to buy from a brand that they like, know and trust. If you’re not sharing some of what’s going on behind-the-scenes, it’s going to become difficult for your audience to build that trust in you and your brand.

It’s up to you to create an environment where they can get to know you.
